Changes to business rates refunds from 1 April 2015

In the 2014 Autumn Statement the Chancellor George Osborne announced changes to the rules regarding business rates.  One of these changes included restricting the window to appeal by 2 years. This means appeals now have to be put in place before 1 April 2015 (rather than 1 April 2017) in order to claim all back-dated business rates savings that may be owed.

Don’t miss out!  If you haven’t yet lodged an appeal against your business rates please get in touch with your usual relationship manager or partner here at Jackson Stephen before the 31 March 2015 cut-off date for new appeals.

We work with Business Rates Consultants and can arrange for a specialist to meet with you to discuss any potential appeals and to ensure any potential savings are maximised.
