Are you prepared for GDPR?
The GDPR deadline is looming so you need to ensure that you and your business are ready. Due to client demand we are holding a second GDPR seminar on Tuesday 24th April for those clients who could not make the last event. This event will focus in particular on GDPR for small businesses (those with less than 250 employees).
There are only 45 days to go until the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect. All businesses that handle personal data, including customer details, will be affected. If you haven’t already started looking into the requirements of GDPR you need to take action now!
One of the reasons small businesses are not prepared for the new regulations is that they don’t think it will affect them, for example, because they don’t process or hold much data and thereby assume they are exempt. The important thing to remember is that every business will be affected. There is some unofficial guidance online suggesting that small businesses are exempt, but that is not the case. The EU legislation and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) state that the new data protection measures apply to all businesses, with some limited exemptions for small businesses.
We have again partnered with Manchester-based Greenlight Computers to talk about how GDPR and Cyber Security are going to affect your business. It is imperative that you understand the changes and are prepared. Attendees will receive practical advice and guidance around the crucial aspects that businesses will need to address before the 25 May deadline.
The presentation will also cover:
- 10 Steps to Cyber Security
- 7 Steps to GDPR compliance
- Data protection - an expert's approach
