Jo Toner
I joined JS as an ACA trainee working in the general practice team in 2017 having completed my AAT qualification. The AAT/ACA route into accountancy offers an excellent alternative to university and I decided to go down this route as I felt the practical work experience gained was invaluable.
During my training, I gained experience in a variety of different areas including statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, VAT returns, and personal and corporation tax. There was lots of support from my training partner as well as peer-to-peer support from others studying at the same time as me and I have made some great friends along the way!
In 2021 I became a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and now work as a manager in the general practice department overseeing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses. It is great to be able to help clients with whatever challenges they or their businesses are facing on a daily basis.
